On this device

Eat/Avoid, favorites, fridge, your shopping list and store picks, store prices you saved from a receipt, city and recents, and saved scans (including the photos or pastes you used for that scan) live in this browser’s storage. Fridge and receipt photos are used only to build that result (adding more photos re-sends the earlier ones with them) and aren’t saved in this browser. Clearing site data for Roasted Robot removes these items. There is no account. Roasted Robot has no consumer accounts. A private sign-in exists only for the site operator: it emails a one-time link and sets a sign-in cookie on that browser so the operator can download Roasted Robot's own recipe cards. It is not a public account or free tier.

Share & import (on this device)

You can export a copy of your Saved recipes from this browser (for example Copy, Share, or a downloadable file) and import that file on another device. Roasted Robot does not receive or store that file on our servers when you use Share/Import. Each device keeps its own on-device copy. Clearing site data on a device removes Saved there. Paid recipe unlocks are checked per device/session and are not granted just because a file was imported.

Sent to servers

Scan, Build (fridge-shelf and receipt photos) and Score send a photo or pasted text to our app host and the AI model provider. More ideas sends the fridge item names you picked, how many people, your Eat/Avoid and diet filters, and your language setting as text (no photos). Make an AI illustration sends the recipe name, its ingredients and a few cooking cues as text to the AI model provider to draw a picture. Look up the history sends the dish name, its ingredient names and any gluten notes as text to the AI model provider, which may run a web search with them. Refreshing price estimates sends the store and city you picked, with Roasted Robot's own item list (not your shopping list). Nothing is sent until you tap one of these. We use these only to answer that request: your grocery list, recipe ideas, steps, score, illustration, dish history or price estimates. Find, Refresh, and Find more send the place name, city, kind, and your kitchen filters — not your camera roll. When you press Send in Feedback, the topic, your message, and a random note id and time are emailed to us. We do not collect your name, email address, or location with it. Please don’t put personal details in the message.

Cookies and rate limiting

To keep the AI features working for everyone, we limit how often one browser can use them (about 10 uses an hour, up to 20 an hour from one network address, and up to 20 a day from one network address and browser). The first time you use an AI feature such as Scan, Score, or Find, we set a first-party cookie named rr_v. It holds a random id plus a signature so it can't be faked. It contains no name, email, or other personal details, page scripts can't read it, and it expires after 1 year. We use it only for this limit. The operator sign-in cookie is described under On this device.

So that clearing cookies doesn't reset the limit, each AI request is also counted under a short one-way hash of your network (IP) address, and under a hash of that address combined with your browser's user-agent string. These counts live only in our app server's temporary memory. They stop counting after an hour (a separate daily count resets after the day ends, UTC), and they are lost whenever the server restarts. We don't keep them any longer on purpose. We don't write them to a database, file, or log, and we don't use them for advertising or to identify you. Recipe card purchases, unlock checks and downloads are counted the same way, under a short one-way hash of your network (IP) address (up to about 30 an hour from one address), to protect payments from abuse. Those counts follow the same rules: temporary memory only, gone within the hour or on restart, and never stored, logged or used to identify you.

Platform script. Each page also loads a script from grok.com, the platform this site is built and published with. When it loads, your browser sends your IP address and basic request details to grok.com, and Cloudflare, grok.com's security provider, may set a short-lived cookie named __cf_bm on grok.com to tell people from bots (Cloudflare says it lasts about 30 minutes). Roasted Robot doesn't set or read that cookie or receive that data. grok.com's own privacy policy applies.

Site analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It records the page you open, the site that linked you here (and tags in a link such as utm_source), your country, and your browser, operating system, and device type. Vercel Web Analytics itself does not use cookies (the cookies Roasted Robot sets are described under Cookies and rate limiting), does not build an advertising profile, and does not identify you by name or email; visitors are counted with a temporary code that Vercel discards after 24 hours. We can see these reports for about the last month. We don't sell this data. See Vercel's analytics privacy notice.

Contribute recipes (optional)

When you choose Contribute this recipe (or the same labeled control), you send us a copy of the recipe text you choose to share — title, ingredients, steps, and any notes shown on that screen. Photos are included only if the contribute screen says so and you attach one.

We use contributions for internal review and to improve Roasted Robot. In this version we do not show your contribution to other users or put it in a public recipe gallery.

Contributions are emailed to our brand inbox (and may be kept in operator working notes). They are separate from ordinary Scan and Score, which still only send material to generate that request’s result, with your saved scans staying on this device.

We keep a contribution until we have reviewed it, then delete it within 12 months, unless you ask sooner. To delete a contribution, use Feedback or email roastedrobotrecipes@gmail.com with the contribution id shown after you send.

Do not contribute meal-kit cards, restaurant proprietary recipe sheets, or content you do not have the right to share. See Terms — Contribute recipes and Acceptable use.

Who processes uploads

Scan, Build (fridge-shelf and receipt photos) and Score uploads are sent to our app host and processed by the AI model provider so we can return your grocery list, recipe ideas, steps, or score for that request. Roasted Robot does not sell your photos in the app and does not run a public photo gallery.

Receipts can show store, payment or loyalty details. Crop or cover them before you take the photo.

Retention

Uploads are used to generate your result. Your scan photos stay on this device so you can reopen Saved recipes; they are not uploaded into a public Roasted Robot photo gallery or a long-term personal media library in the product. We do not sell your photos in the app. Provider processing may create short-lived server copies needed to run the model; Roasted Robot does not offer a cloud album of your scans. To delete what is on this device, clear site data. For a server-side deletion request, use Feedback or email roastedrobotrecipes@gmail.com. Feedback notes are kept in our inbox and working notes until we’ve handled them, then deleted within 12 months. To have a note deleted, email roastedrobotrecipes@gmail.com with its id from the Review tab. Optional Contribute submissions are kept as described under Contribute recipes, not as a cloud album of all Scans.

What we do not do

We do not sell your photos or kitchen data in the app. We do not scrape grocery retailer catalogs or grocer sites for this app.

Kids

Roasted Robot is not directed at children under 13.

Payments

Optional tips, when enabled, use a Stripe Payment Link. A recipe card is a separate one-time purchase through Stripe Checkout — not a tip and not a donation. Stripe processes the payment (card or wallet); Roasted Robot does not vault your full card number. Stripe may share back limited details (such as amount and email) only as needed to confirm the tip or the recipe-card charge. The checkout session id for a paid recipe card stays on this device so that download can unlock. Tips are not required to use Roasted Robot, and Limits stay free. See Stripe’s privacy notice. Roasted Robot does not sell your payment or kitchen data.
